Detailed Reviews and Recommendations
Pan Tu Nie Stał Cafe – 100% "Made in Łódź"
Best for: Feeling the creative vibe of Łódź and buying souvenirs.
This place is an extension of the cult Łódź clothing brand "Pan Tu Nie Stał" (Sir, you were not standing here). The cafe is located in the bustling OFF Piotrkowska complex. The interior is full of design referring to the PRL era (Polish People's Republic) with a modern twist.
- What to drink (Signature menu): Besides classic coffee, be sure to try their grain coffee (kawa zbożowa). It’s a nostalgic return to childhood, but in a gourmet version.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Unique, Łódź design
- ✅ Location in the very heart of OFF Piotrkowska
- ✅ Possibility to buy gadgets and clothes from the brand on-site
- ❌ Little space inside; it makes it cozy, but sometimes hard to get your own table
Location: OFF Piotrkowska (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LQSc299f8aPZjyg26)

Caffe Przy Ulicy – A neighborhood vibe
Best for: Daily coffee and delicious cake close to the center.
I already praised this place in my breakfast guide, but it deserves a spot here as well. It is simply a fantastic, versatile cafe. It is welcoming, unpretentious, and always tasty.
- What to eat: Coffee (decaf too!) tastes best here accompanied by their pastries. The spelt apple pie (szarlotka orkiszowa) and tarts are my "guilty pleasure".
- Good to know: This is a very safe choice – the quality here is consistent, regardless of the time of day.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Delicious homemade cakes
- ✅ Great coffee (including decaf)
- ✅ Very convenient location on Nawrot Street
- ❌ Crowded and queues on weekends, but worth the wait

MILK lodowe bistro – A kingdom of sweets
Best for: A dessert you will remember for a long time and artisanal ice cream.
Located on the same street as Caffe Przy Ulicy, but specializing in something different. It is a paradise for sweet lovers. The interior is pastel, modern, and very "photogenic," and the display case with artisanal ice cream catches your eye right from the street.
- What to eat: Ice cream, at least one scoop! My classic is mascarpone with raspberry sauce and almond crumble, but everything here is wonderful.
- Good to know: This is the ideal place for a "cheat day" or a reward after a long day of sightseeing.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Genius artisanal ice cream
- ✅ Beautiful, aesthetic interior
- ✅ Very close to the center
- ❌ Winter hours are very short
Location: ul. Nawrot 15 (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2eam9VGuj4iHRSiH7)

Owoce i Warzywa – For coffee purists
Best for: Tasting Specialty beans and alternative brewing methods.
This is a legend on the map of Łódź cafes. They approach the subject very seriously here – the baristas have immense knowledge, and you will find single-origin beans in the grinders. If words like "drip," "chemex," or "aeropress" are not foreign to you, you will be in paradise.
- What to drink: Ask the barista for a recommendation for a pour-over ("drip"), as they are happy to serve something specifically tailored to the customer's taste.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Highest quality beans
- ✅ Two locations (the cult one on Traugutta and the one on Piotrkowska 217)
- ✅ Atmosphere conducive to conversation
- ❌ Specific decor that may not suit everyone
Location: Piotrkowska 217 (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/r9NCwKmVua4H5gQn8) / Traugutta (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FuNdg1ve23Afcp6UA)

Grand Cafè – A breath of history
Best for: People watching and feeling the luxury of old Łódź.
Part of the iconic Grand Hotel. Although the coffee experience itself is rated variously, the location is unrivaled. Large windows facing directly onto Piotrkowska make it the best observation point in the city.
- Why it's worth it: You come here for the atmosphere and history – the biggest movie stars stayed in this hotel.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Prestigious location and view of the street
- ✅ Historic interiors
- ❌ The menu looks better than it tastes
Location: ul. Piotrkowska 72 (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/npf9FtQJKZHmpq279)

Tubajka – Coffee in the park
Best for: Relaxing with family and escaping the hustle and bustle.
A charming cafe located in the very heart of Park Źródliska (the oldest park in Łódź). It has a homely, slightly Victorian vibe. It is the perfect place for a break during a walk, especially if you are with children.
- What to eat: They are famous for a huge selection of cakes that look like they were baked by grandma. Recently, the Guinness cake was worth the sin.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Beautiful location in the park
- ✅ Very child and pet friendly
- ❌ Little space inside
Location: Park Źródliska I (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GfqcxeYKK1twGH6MA)

Obiecana Cafe – Peace in Geyer Gardens
Best for: Working with a laptop or a moment of silence.
If you want to hide in a corner with a book or a laptop and not be disturbed, you've found the perfect place. The cafe is located in the revitalized zone of Geyer Gardens, offering a raw, post-industrial, but cozy atmosphere.
- What to drink: They have great autumn-winter teas that are worth tasting.
- Good to know: The location itself is an interesting piece of Łódź history – after coffee, it's worth visiting the rest of the complex.
- Pros and Cons:
- ✅ Calm atmosphere conducive to focus
- ✅ Post-industrial interiors (brick and large windows)
- ❌ Watch out for events that change the atmosphere in the venue
Location: Ogrody Geyera, ul. Piotrkowska 295A (see map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2q97bf528jp1XzGS8)
Tips for coffee lovers in Łódź
- Alternative milks: In Łódź, this is standard. You can get oat, soy, or almond milk in every place listed (often without extra charge or for a small fee).
- Opening hours: Remember that smaller cafes may have different opening hours depending on the season. Always check Google or Facebook before leaving.
- Coffee to go: If you get a coffee "to go" for a walk along Piotrkowska, ask for a discount for bringing your own cup – many Łódź cafes support eco-friendly choices!
I hope this personal guide helps you find the perfect coffee moment in Łódź. Smacznego!
