My Favourite Breakfast & Brunch Spots in Łódź
Date Reviewed: 12-09-2025
Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. For me, it truly sets the tone for everything that follows, whether it's a day of exploring or a quiet morning of relaxation. A good breakfast just makes everything better!
If you feel the same way and are looking for some wonderful places to start your day in Łódź, I’d love to share a few of my personal go-to spots. When I do go out for breakfast or brunch, it's usually a special occasion, like meeting up with friends or family. That’s why, for me, the quality of the food and coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere are top priorities. The spots I'm sharing below are places I enjoy because they consistently deliver on these aspects.
My Go-To Breakfast & Brunch Spots:
1. Caffe Przy Ulicy
- Why I love it: This is a regular for me because of its fantastic variety – there’s something for every mood! From delicious sweet options to satisfying savoury dishes, and they always have great vegan choices too. The bread is consistently fresh and varied, and everything feels top quality. Plus, if you're in a celebratory mood, they offer prosecco with breakfast! Their coffee is excellent, and importantly for me, they serve decaf, which isn't a given everywhere.
- Good to know: They have several outlets in different parts of the city. One is just a short 5-minute walk away from the apartment!

2. Bułkę przez Bibułkę
- Why I love it: Though it originated in Warsaw, Bułkę przez Bibułkę has brought its great quality and charm to Łódź. They offer a wide range of delicious breakfast and brunch choices, all made with care. It’s another spot where you can reliably get a good decaf coffee.
- Good to know: Their Łódź spot is located within the Fuzja complex, a beautifully revitalised area that was once part of Karl Scheibler's historic 19th-century textile empire. This setting offers a unique chance to dine amidst Łódź's rich industrial heritage.

3. Montag Bistro & Deli
- Why I love it: Located right on the famous Piotrkowska Street, Montag is fantastic for its bread – they bake their own, and the choices are wonderful. They do seasonal dishes, and beyond bread, they have a great selection of well-prepared options perfect for both a quicker breakfast or a more leisurely brunch. The atmosphere is cosy, and it's a spot you can always rely on.
- Good to know: They have a couple of places where they sell their bread, so be vigilant when doing your Google searches for the bistro itself.

4. Morning Coffee & More (Polesie)
- Why I love it: This cafe has a very interesting and creative menu; the dish names are particularly telling. Their coffee and cakes are also decent.
- Good to know: They are open from 7 am, which is great if you're an early riser.

5. Mono Cafe & Bistro (at Monopolis)
- Why I love it: Mono Cafe & Bistro is a great spot situated within the stylish Monopolis complex – a beautifully revitalised former vodka factory. The setting won architectural awards and did so for a good reason; it is very charming. For a true taste of local cuisine, this is one of the few places where you can try zalewajka, a traditional sour rye soup special to the Łódź region. If you enjoy trying local delicacies, definitely give it a go!
- Good to know: Monopolis is an interesting place to explore in its own right, with restaurants, event spaces, and art. Combining a meal here with a look around is a great idea.

Pro Tips for Your Łódź Breakfast & Brunch Experience
- What's a Polish Breakfast? While international options abound, a traditional Polish breakfast often includes open sandwiches with fresh bread (various types!), cold cuts (wędliny), cheese (ser), perhaps sliced tomatoes or cucumbers, hard-boiled eggs, and sometimes twaróg (a type of fresh curd cheese).
- Reservations & Wait Times: The places I recommend can get quite busy, especially over the weekends, and not all of them take reservations. It's always a good idea to check ahead if possible. I encourage you to take your time; these spots are worth the potential wait. However, if you are not into starting your weekend lining up for something to eat, you can always pick some of your favourite ingredients from a local shop and enjoy your breakfast on the fabulous apartment terrace!
I hope sharing my personal favourites helps you discover some delicious ways to start your days in Łódź. Smacznego (Enjoy your meal)!
